Workshops, LDP, and Recreation Time

We have guest speakers from all over the nation come to the NAD YLC almost daily to give talks, discuss current topics and teach the campers different things. As you've seen in our previous blogs, we've mentioned some of our guest speakers. Recently, we were lucky enough to have our NAD COO Shane Feldman fly in to talk about our rights as deaf people and what NAD is doing to fulfill that and beyond. The campers definitely did learn a thing or two!

We also have something called, the Leadership Development Program (LDP), which happens for 45 minutes daily in the mornings where the Administrative Team members take turns in giving lessons. The LDP contains of about 20 lessons covering a wide range of leadership topics such as leadership styles and characteristics of a good leader, just to name two.

Our Youth Program Coordinator, Allie Rice, gives
a lesson during the Leadership Development Program.

Everyday we have the recreational time where the campers are free to mingle, play games, write letters, and take showers before dinner time. It usually is a favorite among the campers to use this time to catch up on things they want to do.

Recreation time!

Zain Ahmed, Juliana Apfel, and
Nathaniel Amann are happy to be here!

Telling stories by our fireside is the best way to end our night!

Until next time,

NEXUS
