Dr. Turk and Silver Falls trip

Fourty-three years ago, Dr. Frank Turk and Gary Olsen founded YLC. We were humbled that Dr. Turk came and gave us the opportunity to hear some wise words of advice from him. His presentation was about how each one in a team should change their perspective of "Me" to "We."He also emphasized how YLC's motto: "Promoting the tomorrow of all the Deaf by working with the Deaf youth of today," applies to our daily lives and how we can continue encouraging our future generations to come. After his presentation, the campers were inspired and surrounded him for pictures.

Campers intrigued by his presntation.

Today, we hiked up to see one of Oregon's greatest attractions, Silver Falls. We got to see 3 different waterfalls. The campers and staff enjoyed the peaceful setting that nature provided. The hike was approximately 2.5 miles which was definitely nice trail for all of us to hike on.

We are seeing how each camper is investing in improving their leadership qualities. We are always thrilled to be stimulated every day by our campers.

Until next time,
